Children’s Space Writing Day

Many thanks to all the wonderful kids who took part in the Space writing day on Tuesday 10th August. You certainly had plenty of ideas and enthusiasm. From joining in noisily from the initial ‘Blast Off’ activity, to making up fascinating aliens and planets, Helpers and Gifts, poems and stories, you filled the room with energy and imagination. I hope that you are now showing off your aliens like the Fliferlig and the Tickleheehee, and the poems and stories that you wrote about them, to everyone you know!

The next Children’s Writing Day will be on Thursday, 28th October, when the theme will be Horrible Halloween.  Booking will be through the Winchester Discovery Centre What’s On, as usual. The Space day sold out fast, so please book quickly if you want to be sure of your place!

The day will be part of the week-long Wessex Children’s Book Festival 2010, which has lots of great events on – make sure you check that out too.
