I have just got back from compèring the first Literary Café at Gosport Discovery Centre – the first of many, we will hope, because tonight was great! Our twelve readers gave us a feast of good poetry and prose, and the evening was very friendly and enjoyable. Congratulations to Rosa of Titchfield Wordwrights who was voted the most-enjoyed writer, and to Clark who came a very close second; but the whole evening had a very high standard and I would not have liked to be asked to pick my favourite reading! Particularly pleasing was getting representatives of three writers’ groups – Gosport, Solent, and Titchfield – chatting together and I hope making links.
I’m looking forward now to the next one, in late June or early July – watch this space or check the next Gosport DC What’s On guide for the exact date.
