Live poetry, stories, and more on Thursday 2nd June

Winchester’s literature performance scene is, somehow, managing to carry on expanding. (Do we have the highest density of writers per head of population outside Dublin? Discuss…). Next up are not just one but TWO high quality events on the same night:

Live Poetry at the Bridge Patisserie, Bridge St, Winchester: 7pm

kiwi.

This is the one I personally will be going to, because it’s poetry and it’s part of a series that is growing very nicely. The last one featured a dozen poets, a couple of singer-songwriters, some blues people, and improvised dance as well! Rive Gauche eat your heart out. So bring a poem or just a pair of attentive ears, and enjoy not just the artiness but also Moira’s superlative cakes (the best in Winchester – no discussion needed on that one!)

Outside in Hyde: Short Stories in the chamber of Hyde Gate, 7:30pm

This is put on by the Hyde900 Lit people, who continue to be very active. Here’s the flyer: outside in hyde. Note that they’d like you to email in advance if you want to read. Guaranteed to be a friendly evening.

Hope you can make it to one of them.
